As soon as I left school I started working at Fields & Pimblett Ltd. They sold the Cuppone Monarch Pizza Ovens as well as other catering equipment. I quickly learnt all aspects of the industry from the office side of things, to picking and packing and warehouse work.

After about 4 years at Fields & Pimblett Ltd they sadly went into administration, so I then began work at Viking Direct as a Customer Service Representative. I had been working there for over 3 years when Linda Lewis contacted me and asked if I would be interested in going back to work with her at Kitcheneers Ltd which had come about from the administration of Fields & Pimblett Ltd. I handed my notice in at Viking Direct and joined Linda at Kitcheneers Ltd as an Accounts Assistant. I worked at Kitcheneers Ltd for over 3 years.

Linda had moved on and set up her own company Linda Lewis Kitchens Ltd. Linda contacted me and asked if I would be interested in joining and working alongside her at Linda Lewis Kitchens Ltd. I left Kitcheneers Ltd and started work at Linda Lewis Kitchens Ltd in September 2007 and have been here ever since! I became a director here in April 2009. I have been in the industry for almost 15 years now.

What does your role involve? As Financial Director I have many jobs and I always have something to do!

I create the budgets for each year, organise the cash flow, create the price lists and update the supplier costings each year. I am also responsible for getting the best exchange rates possible for paying our Italian suppliers and for managing the bank accounts. My role also includes credit control and keeping an eye on customer’s accounts. I chase up payments and send out statements. I complete the process of opening credit accounts for new customers. I complete daily and monthly reconciliations. I am responsible for processing the wages and approving holidays.

The VAT Returns are my responsibility along with all things HMRC related.

I have recently taken control of Health and Safety and HR also which is a big job as the laws are always changing and there are so many aspects to take into consideration.

Despite having a big work load I am always on hand to help in the warehouse, unloading waggons, picking and packing spares, on sales and wherever needs help! I also make a good coffee!
