Dough you have what it takes?

LLK is delighted to announce that we are once again a headline sponsor at this year’s H20 National Pizza Awards. This competitive event is held annually at the Iron Works in Islington, London as the place to be to showcase your pizza talent and be in the chance to win some serious dough, £1,000 to be exact.

The event which takes place this year on Thursday 7th November comprises of 2 rounds, one technical and one signature giving chefs the perfect opportunity for pizzaiolo’s across the UK to showcase their talents and proove they are the best! The 16 specially selected finalists will each be asked to prepare a technical pizza; this involves using sponsors products. They will also be required to cook a signature pizza which is unique to them and can contain any ingredients, giving pizzaiolos the perfect opportunity to show off their most popular pizza!

The pizzas are judged on how the pizza/base is made, flavour profile, how well the pizza is cooked, aesthetic and presentation, texture, quality and consistency aswell as choice and use of ingredients. Last year competitors from all over the UK went head to head to proove they are the best showcasing some incredible pizzas and toppings with one competitor shaving over a £1,000 worth of truffle on top to impress the judges!

Last year’s competition was a fierce one, with the following competitors coming out on top as the crème de la crème of the pizza world.

  • Filippo Rosato from Purezza who won the ‘Salvo 1968’ Mystery Box round and the award for National Pizza of the year!
  • Marco Fusa from Baked and Battered who was the winner of the Technical Pizza round!
  • Luigi Marino from Tre Ciccio who was awarded the ultimate prize of Pizza Chef of the Year!

This year we will once again be supplying the National Pizza Awards, with two of our stunningly stylish Donatello + pizza ovens for competitors to cook their pizza masterpieces on. This oven with its controllable elements is perfect for our competing chefs, as it gives them the ability to take full control of the oven to cook their pizza to perfection!

Aside from sponsoring the event, we will also once again be serving a range of delicious pizzas at this year award ceremony with our Development Chef, Fabio taking over the cooking for the evening. This year LLK will be showcasing a range of products for attendees to see in person, this is the first time a London audience will be seeing a live demonstration of our showstopping Cuppone Giotto and our Cuppone Pizza Press and will get to see our products in action.

We are hoping to see as many of our fabulous customers at the National Pizza Awards showcasing their fantastic abilities!
